Why is it important?

1. It is the law

2. It could mean a free ride home for your pet. If

you can be contacted and it's the 1st time your animal

is picked up by Animal Control.

3. Extended stay at the Shelter if for some reason you

can't be contacted. Hold period becomes longer for

an animal with current tags.

4. If your animal is wearing current tags, the 1st time

impoundment fee will be waived
